CCI is taking a BIG HIT because it is SB70 impacted. SB70 prohibits the awarding of California Financial Aid to those institutions with high Federal Student Loan default rates. All of the Everest campuses along with a couple of the Heald campuses are SB70 impacted.
The Heald Campus in Milpitas is "gang banger infested" with "students" that are for all practical purposes "dropouts". They received for what it is worth a "high school diploma" which would be better entitled "certificate of attendance". You can look at yelp dot com for reviews of Heald in its numerous locations and "it is not a pretty picture".
For what it is worth, A Heald College Student asked me to help him in his so called college math course being not even glorified high school algebra. The entire class was on line and perhaps being cocky told him that "Heald was a big joke" told "Joe Sixpack" to give me a couple of six packs of beer and I would do the homework. Turns out, I was able to do the ENTIRE course resulting in an A with completing all of the homeworks, midterm and final. The grading was HEAVILY weighted for the homework which allows for unlimited trials meaning that with a "tenth of a brain" that you were going to get all the homework done correctly. You had a minimum of 2 hours for the exams along with multiple attempts at the questions. Given that I finished the entire course in the 1st week of the course that would at a "real school" would have raised questions of academic honesty. Not at Heald apparently as the student was given a "big high five" by the instructor. When I asked this Heald College IT student about his future plans, he told me that he was planning on going to San Jose State University for an engineering degree. I pointed out that the majority of the classes won't be accepted as transfer credit and that his bigger problem was that he was still doing high school math and you simply can't get ANY engineering degree from SJSU without taking calculus.
I called up some friends that work at Heald and was told that he was one of the better students.
