Thread regarding CVS layoffs

How would you rate the performance of your CVS supervisor?

Just curious, let's see what people have to say.

There are so many non technical people in IT management making decisions with 1 or 2 non competitive technical leads input.. They are trashing money on the name of IT. IT Leadership is in nexus with IT service companies and extend their contracts. First time in my career seen a company continuing relationship with service companies for years after flipping 60% of their employees to CVS, and they expect quality in estimations and on time delivery. This is a total trash one day..

9/10 as a worker. 2/10 as a manager. 0/10 as a human being.

My manager gives me more hours when I ask, holds my hand during turbulent times.

4 DM's and now 1 DL in almost 20 years. 3 Dm's promoted within were great leaders and communicators and always had my back rate a 10. 1 Dm total jerk and last I heard not longer with company total 0. Current DL is former PIC and doesn't know anything about front store and apparently doesn't want to know. Never shows up in stores and doesn't care. BIG Zero. Grateful to old DM's who taught me everything.

Had three DMs in 4 years.

DM 1 was promoted from within, good guy, worked well within the system. He was good.

DM 2 also promoted within, RM friend. Couldn’t deal well with stupid SMs, didn’t play within the system well. He was ok.

DM 3 was a Macy’s outside hire. Going from a large format Macy’s store to a CVS district was terrible for him. He didn’t adapt and is failing.

Aetna employee -- My manager is terrible. We have had more than 7 in the last 10 years. This one by far is the worst. Has no technical knowledge, can't resolve basic problems, has no people or leadership skills. Hides out in gis office and prays no one asks any questions. Manager has failed to meet metrics for the last 3 years and gets skewered every year on employee survey. Do not understand why this person still has a job? I have never seen anything like this. This person gets 1 star out of 10.

I am in IT, my manager is fairly decent - she's a great mentor but lacks deep technical knowledge. I'd give her 7.5 (out of 10)...
