@7udh is a troll. There is no band 6t.
@7udh, someday you might even make a union wage.
3 x zero is still zero 7udh.
thankfully i'm in a non-union shop, over the past 4 years I've gone from an 8v to a 6t and nearly tripled my pay
10 - “career path” now is how much you s--- up to your boss and how much your boss likes you. IT puts people every day into people leader roles who can’t manage their way out of a wet paper bag.
Millenial here:
-
Work for 10 years
-
Have my job outsourced or automated
-
Get divorced
-
Lose my house
-
The only job I can get after 10 years at Verizon is Uber job
Crystal Clear:
1) Work for thirty or so years.
2) Retire.
3) Live happily ever after until the Lord sees fit to call me.

Also promotions in this company usually don't mean much more many. You can spend your entire career moving up within a single band.
- In my 12 year career made it from assistant store manager to director. Took VSP which is essentially a golden parachute for director or above and retire at the end of this month at 45 years old. I will live off my passive rental income from my real estate portfolio. Worked my a$$ off for 12 years and now its over. Thanks Verizon and thanks VSP!

i have been promoted twice in three years. putting in just minor effort makes you stand out in this company of lazy bumps on the log
Depends on ones position. As craft I know well the limits of my job. As craft I know that I have zero desire to move into a salaried position. What I do not know is where the company is going and I suspect the upper management really do not know either. They have been playing it 'by ear' for a number of years. No amount of slogans or 2.0, 2.1. 3.0....etc. changes that the employee has no idea what the company intends.
3 for me
have some idea
Verizon, were people go to work hating their life
