I interviewed over the past several months and finally got a job offer that was going through the process. Now that we are in Q1 I am not being told if my job is still available or what. I am just left in limbo. Meanwhile I have other job offers that I turned down because this offer paid higher but now I am having second thoughts. How much time should I give them before I pull the plug and see if one of my other offers that I turned down is still available?

If you have already turned down the other positions, l would continue looking or start looking again. Next offer you get, compare with your Oracle offer. Don't decline or accept it right away as for a few days. If they ask why tell them the truth, you have a better verbal offer but haven't gotten it in writing yet. They may sweeten their offer but don't ask them to match or try to play the bigger offer deal. All you really want is time, then go back to Oracle and tell them that you're running out of time and have another offer you'll take if they can't move forward. If you don't make this about money you shouldn't come off greedy, and by asking for time you signal that you're not desperate.
Go to any job other than Oracle. Seriously.
"I knew a guy that sold his house in TX, packed up and moved his family to the Bay area only for Oracle to slash the entire team."
Yah, and I know this one person who transferred to Virginia, worked remotely, bought a 25 acre ranch and has been with Oracle the last 10 years.
Take any. Other. Offer. I knew a guy that sold his house in TX, packed up and moved his family to the Bay area only for Oracle to slash the entire team. He sat in the Bay area with nothing and Oracle had no consequence. That's how they operate.
If the offer is in limbo, that is a bad sign. Personally, I would just assume the req was pulled and that is that, regardless of the company, and move on.
We used to be treated like professionals at Oracle. Now it's more like working at McDonald's. Customers can select products from a board, and we cook in the kitchen.
That would all work if there was no competition, but Wendy's and Burger King has taken away customers.
You should not spend any time waiting for Oracle. Go back to the other offers if you can. Oracle is a seriously f---ed up place, you don't want to work there.
If you had other, better offers; why didn't you accept one of them, especially if you were still waiting for an official offer from O?
If you’re outside of Bay Area, Oracle name on your resume is still considered good by many employees (specially if you’re currently working for a no name company. That said, there are inherent risk of getting laid off if you’re unlucky.
Oracle is in Limbo, it takes atleast 3 - 5 years to pick up and requires lot of hardwork with less cost. You will be drained with work and swim between politics. If you want to face the tide go ahead with O. If you want team work and a regular life style with decent salary and predictive future. Then No.
Oracle used to be a decent place to work at, now with the politic sh-- show that they are playing it is not a place to start a career. Take other offers if you can, and if oracle's mothership turned around come back and apply.
Take the other offers. O has been known to start the process to fill a position only to have the headcount addition canceled during the process. Seriously, don't hold out for O, take one of the other offers, you might do better there financially in the long run anyway.
Forget about oracle, take one of the other offers and be glad this is the only way oracle f---ed you over
lmao, run away dude or dudette, anyone who wants to join this company with the current turmoil is insane.
Run away from Oracle as fast as you can! If you have offers, take one and be thankful you avoided the nightmare. Good luck
