Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Everyone Read, then please answer.

So this new Verizon is about employee empowerment and is based upon everyone aligning and employee morale. So then why is Hans our CEO? If you google him he has a track record of being the grim reaper. All he does is downsize and cold heartedly eliminate positions, pay people the same for twice the work, or move jobs overseas to make ya more money. So if this is the truth, why him? That’s it.

VZ has always been hypocritical. For years it was credo this and that but if you looked at the world around you, it was the opposite of what was being told. 2.0 is just another credo, except they didn't define it. Just keep saying 2.0 even if it means nothing and dms/directors will think you're bought in. Couldn't tell you anything that the credo said and I'm a 10+ year employee.

I never asked for Hans. My work load has also doubled. They took away extra benefits from our customers and expecting them to love us in our surveys. Certain benefits are also going away like the tuition assistance for certification programs. Many of my friends are on a pip or a final written because of their results. Literally nothing is being changed to improve our business. It's mostly cut backs even though our stock price keeps going up. My friend in it had his job outsourced. Cutting to many corners will hurt verizon in the long run

Quitting and having my full set of interviews. Gonna live of saved money and if need be after several months pull some 401k. My mental health is worth more than being at this sh-- hole! Work like a dog and get paid sh--!

You nailed the hypocracy that is 2.0. My work load has tripled since December to the point my doctor has put me on anti-anxiety meds, and I haven't gotten as much as a "thank you" from my new, b--ch of a manager who has no business leading people. Our only concession, if you want to call it that, is that leadership is "listening" to us now.

I strongly believe Hans was brought in by the board to be the fall guy to make these drastic changes, because he already did the same with Ericsson. Unfortunately I am in no position to leave, and I knew it would be bad when my manager, director, and executive director, all took the VSP, but I never imagined it would be this horrible.
