Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Is June 7th the last night you work if you’ve accepted severance? Why would we work into a new pay period (Saturday morning June 8th)

The majority of clubs are not running an overnight stocking crew the night of June 21st, so if you accepted the severance, your last possible shift would be overnight June 20 into June 21.

New program starts at 4am Saturday, June 22nd. Some clubs may run a skeleton crew overnight to make sure drop lists are completed and the Friday evening stocking after closing but completed by 11:30 is done.

I have contacted home office and they advised if you are 3rd shift and working the Friday of your last day, to clock before midnight. The reason is that June 22nd starts a whole new pay period - meaning all your deductions will be in effect - insurance, 401, dental, etc - and that if your deductions exceed your wages for those hours after midnight, you will end up paying out of pocket.

They are quite quick about answering any and all of your questions. They got back with me the next day. You can email them at ASCINFO@walmart.com

The ASC stands for Associate Support Center. You can also call them at 1-800-622-3989.

you work til the 21st, why because you are still needed. Don't want your severance, you are free to leave at anytime. Night shift was the only people offered severance.

How many days were you given? If it was 60 days then that's what you work. It doesn't matter if it goes into the next pay period.
