Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Pivoting, pivoting

Given the general confusion, it occurred during to me that some clarification for the unwashed and uneducated masses, might serve a purpose. So listen up:

Oracle is executing a classic pivot - same vision, new strategy based on what we’ve learned during the last few years (yes, it’s been a slow learning process), namely:

  1. Fusion was not the successful transition to the cloud we had hoped - this we exiled TK to Google so that in the future he can make mistakes at their expense not ours

  2. OCI-C and OCI - Seattle have likewise been abysmal failures and are likewise being shut down and their leaders executed

  3. MH has tough us that the tiger doesn’t easily change it spots having first destroyed NCR, the HP and now Oracle - he too is due to be executed (figuratively speaking, of course)

We have also learned what works and will do more of those things:

  1. Massive share buyback work like a charm in keeping up the share price - cudos to SC and billions more to be allocated - yes. Analysts are dumber than shoe laces and shareholders are not far behind

  2. Cloud fraud has worked great so far as well, therefore to be continued under SC’s capable leadership

  3. Costs cuts which eliminate competent employees buy increase EPS are a winner - more kudos and power to SC and layoffs for the rest of you

  4. We’re going to tell the analysts and shareholder that we’re pivoting g to the cloud yet again based on everything we have learned - those dumb--ses will eat it up like starving hyenas

Hope that helps you ignorant fools understand where things are going, not that it matter since many of you are getting RIFed but nonetheless

Over and out, your intrepid captain

"The blah blah blah guy may be right but he's about as useful as the the guy who apparently needs a gastro visit. get the most positive feedback"

I am the blah-blah guy. I admire what you're trying to do and agree with what you've written.

Unfortunately, your attempt to have a reasoned discussion here will be in futile. I just cut to the chase, highlight their motivation and let the free-world decide.

I don't understand the purpose of this site as well. It's not like one can turn back the clocks to avoid their own demise.

The predictions, most, if not all, are after the fact or off. In fact, it's on an endless loop of doom n gloom and layoffs so at some point it will coincide by happen-chance.

As for positive feedback for being negative, it's by design on this site. Some of my comments have been purposely removed for being anti-gloom narrative or stating facts contrary to the dreadful theme.

They are disgruntled and entitled hasbeens who are supposedly adults. Nothing you can do to help them. Oracle's fault is not laying them off. It's at fault for not laying them off sooner.

New orders and renewals on OCI-C were halted last fall. A lot of effort is being spent on migrating those customers to OCI. Don’t think this is fresh news to anyone

The blah blah blah guy may be right but he's about as useful as the the guy who apparently needs a gastro visit. The people who get the most positive feedback on this site are the negative people and that is because no one is shouting as loud as they are with compelling stories. Everyone want to believe the worst. People need to break down what's being said and destroy this tripe .

  1. Industry reports seem to indicate that SaaS is doing well.

  2. Neither oci or oci-c were abysmal failures who has said they are being shut down? Where does this information come from?

  3. MH, ok, maybe not great CEO material to build a visionary cloud company. We need that.

  4. Buybacks. Everyone is doing it. Yes the money could be better spent possibly but analysts are not stupid. I think they are starting to call Oracle out on this.

  5. There is no cloud fraud. Will you let it go already

Prove it and the entire tech world would deify you.

  1. Cost cutting through layoffs. Been going on for years in all industries. It's a time honored tradtion. Hurts like hell. Happened to me to get a company in shape for a sale one time. It could absolutely be true that a extinction-level event is required for O to reboot and truly pivot to cloud. It's easier to pivot a speedboat than aircraft carrier.

  2. What Oracle is doing to move to cloud is hard. If you work at oracle get on board or leave. If not, just shut up. This amount of change disrupts earnings and with the markets pedantic focus on short term gains, making a long term change is dangerous. There are expectations of shareholders who still expect short term gains because the can't seem the long term benefits when there is near term disruption. That's a problem. Oracle does need to put the proper investment into this effort and that's probably even more than they have so far to match the market leaders.

You are no one's captain. You are just some anonymous hack with an axe to grind. What are you trying to accomplish here?

Love to hear folks talking trash. At least they are doing that part of the job. Coming events will soon show if they are prophets, or just being an a--. Either way, I guess talking trash comes naturally to them!

"impressed by this 3 stooges a--kisser"

Your accusation makes no sense since we are all anons here, dim-wit.

But I'm still pretty sure you're just another bitter, has-been who can't let go. My terse summary stands solid, as usual.
