Agile SAFe lol! It is not working but the big wigs love it. You know why? The story pointing and capacity modeling give execs and management more insight into productivity. The problem is they don’t understand how long tasks really take and want to drive the time per take down. What is that ultimately going to accomplish? It is going to make dev have to work extra hours on their own personal time to get the job done. Also SAFe is a great new way to micromanage employees- closely monitoring productivity. It’s a rotten scam that benefits management and not the employee. Management is doing to dev what manufacturing did to manufacturing workers years ago. And the workers had to form a union to get fair working conditions. I’m shocked at how few people are making this connection.

Practical intelligent people can sniff out the BS when a framework is overly complex and supposedly dependent upon "expert" consultants. Leadership that can't determine effective quality systems and can't nurture the appropriate culture fail. In the 1960s & 70s Japanese manufacturing embraced simple concepts that were developed in America but never implemented by a complacent cabal of inept big business leaders. Japan quality & price performance came to own many consumer product markets and then American industry needed to scramble to catch up. Honesty, transparency and simplicity are what's needed for a good product that's designed to built to standard. Most of the units in $GE had none of that and neither the C-suite and board. of directors.

All I know is that after I have been on my job for 3 hours, I call my boss, per the practice, and suddenly my cable pair is good, the 4 spans of drop hangs itself, the NTW worms it's way through the ceiling tiles, smart Jack & housing jumps out of my truck and attaches to the wall(with a #6 ground wire and yellow tags on each end to boot), CO gets wired correctly and the testability magically works. Oh yeah, and those little red caps fall out of the sky and land smack dab on my binding posts('cause a specials won't work without 'em)....all because of the 3 hour call!

GE capital is the downfall of GE. The financial crisis of 2008 took it out, and they haven't recovered ever since. They are sitting on mounds of debt.

Meh - we were doing the Five 9's back in the 80's. That didn't work for diddly either.

But AT&T is exceptional! We have Randall the Rat and the John the Stanky expertly steering this Titanic through dangerous waters. With leadership like this, we can't possibly fail, right?
