Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

I started with this company when I was 23 I’m 55 now. I have given this company my life, for what? We are all just disposable trash.

I don't see him as a problem there Uncle Tom for corporate he actually hit the nail on the head. Thats all the company talks about is installing there bs apps to help you provide exceptional member service and people sitting up there in Bentonville are looking right now and what other positions they can cut. Try this when your position is on the chopping block ( I installed those apps and I thought I meant something to this company and now you are letting me go.)

Oh the irony of supposed grown adults, calling others kids living in their parents basement, while crying about a job they hate 🙄

Just because YOU hate your job, and YOU blame everyone else for your unhappiness, doesn’t make me a Uncle Tom for corporate. While you ridicule others for daring to voice our displeasure with the constant stream of victims that post on this site, look in the mirror and realize you are the problem snowflake.

@Zk24Ldo-1xdq ahh your just what the company is looking for, someone who will defend them and all there b---s--- to the end and loves getting that 10-15 cent raise each year but thats ok for you since you are still living at home with your mommie and have no real responsibilities except you cell phone bill which is now filled with all of Sams apps and BS. You bought right into there propaganda BS about member service. If they actually want exceptional member service then they need to add more associates and stop adding more and more c-ap they want done and cutting positions. Audits are out of control they should of left 1 person on the audit team but some genius who's probably never actually worked in a club said hey lets k--l the audit team and just add it to the already overworked teamleads. Lets k--l the night crew and bring them to days and expect them to do what it took them 8 hours to do and cut that in half so they can help members. Hello they are not helping members because they cannot get finished and the last thing they are worried about is helping members.

Trash is better than the OP. At least trash doesn’t feel entitled to be treated like treasure, just because 32 years ago trash was all shiny and new. I bet trash would be a better worker than OP, because I imagine OP would refuse to deal with trash during OP’s work shift because “it’s not my job!”’

Now run along OP to your local hospital or medical complex and apply to be one of those Information Kiosk workers, or go check out the gift shop to see if they need someone to fill balloons and sell flower arrangements.

@1lxo that's the attitude that will ruin you later. There will come a day where you're going to wish you left sooner. The associates will dwindle down to almost nothing. When that happens you will be a lot older and left with nothing under your belt. The only thing you will have learned is retail and most of the retail jobs will be replaced with scan & go, self checkout, and basically self service stores. So I hope that while you're hanging out at Sam's, you are also taking some classes for a other type of work on the side. One day you will really wish you did. I know of several that stayed at Sam's most of their working life, then their club closed and they were faced with very slim pickings at Walmart or another Sam's a lot farther than they could travel. They were so lost. To see that sadness and worry in their eyes is sad to see. Just remember to set yourself up for a plan B. I guarantee you will need it one day.

Always have been disposable. We just allowed this company to make us think otherwise for too long with some ancient stool with 3 legs then they had to add a 4th because so many MM's were behaving unethically.

Humm what were they again.. RESPECT, SERVICE, STRIVE and cannot leave off the most laughable to anyone who has any knowledge of todays leadership tactics.... ETHICAL

Sadly you won't realize how unmeaningful you are to this company until they drop you, or your "job" at the door for no reason. Why so many of the younger generations job hop. They know they are meaningless to companies. Loyalty, integrity & character are rare now but there is a few still fightin the good fight but really for a harder life.
