And I don't mean the 3 stooges. There a lot of negative comments throughout this forum regarding the 3 stooges and I do not disagree with any of them. But in a "normal" corporate structure it's the Board of Directors that is ultimately responsible for making the decisions that drive a company to success. In our case the BoD is comprised mostly of a bunch of old rich friends of the chairman of the board. And in our case the BoD is highly compensated for their "corporate direction" through stock options totalling in the millions of dollars a year (anyone see a conflict here?). As much as I agree with everyone else that the 3 stooges must go I think it would be even more effective if the stockholders would start ousting the rubber-stamp BoD members and replace them with a real Board of Directors. If that happened I think we would see the 3 stooges and a lot of upper management gone in short order.

Just like the turkey before thanksgiving - it’s used to the nice farmer coming every morning to feed it; until one morning he shows up and cuts its throat. That’s Oracle stock for you - one day ignorant, oblivious shareholders will wake up and the stock will have cratered because the markets will have realized hay there is no there, there. You keep on being that turkey dude.
From an investment perspective, ORCL hasn't had too bad return so far due to stock buy backs and cost cutting.
Oracle’s poor corporate governance is on par with Facebook’s
BOD are bought and paid for and basicly do what Larry tells them to do all while collecting fat paychecks
Yes, I agree. But then, the people who still own Oracle stock are complete id--ts, so I don't think the BoD is going to go through any change. Not until the money runs out and the stock completely tanks. That will eventually happen.
BOD is useless because it's chosen by LE who owns more than 30% of the company ; this will only changes when LE passes away. LE is the only chief in town. In some way, Oracle is run like if it were a private company because investors have little power.
