Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Has any club had any associates terminated for points they have gained under new system? We have people with over 30 points, WTH?

None at my club that I know of , they should give points for standing around talking ,and taking extra long breaks like one & half hour ones and doing a time adjustment to fix long lunches also. And not everyone has points yet I have none so don't go saying everyone has points against them when they don't. Just sayin...

We have lost 3 associates to the new point system so far. And 3 more on their way in a week or 2.

Our club has let go of about 8 associates so far with another 9 or so on the edge of being fired. Combine that with everyone that is quitting because of these ridiculous schedule changes and on June 22 I suspect we'll just be closed for the day because there is no one left!

As for comments about people working longer shifts (10-12hrs) it's the norm atm at our club. Though you do have those that abuse it from fresh s---ing up the OT but not helping anywhere else.

What about Management? Anyone else notice that they are now late more than ever? Leave when they want. Excuses for why they have to leave or are late. Some of the worst grouo of over paid Management I have eve seen. Come in, do your job and go home. Not a care about the company or the people.

If you already have 5 points then you should be fired. You hurt no one but your coworkers when you continue to miss work. They not only have to do there job but now they have to do yours. These people who miss work for the simplest thing should be gone. It is not ok to miss work because you stayed up all night playing games.

People are working 14-16 hour days...

No they are not. Fake thruths.

They can’t afford to get rid of anyone because there is NO ONE else left to take their place! People at our club are already working 12-14hrs a day just for the club to stay open! Word is out that you don’t want to work for SAMS just sayin

We have a ton of people with 5 or more points. Just because they have reason to fire doesn't mean they will or it has to be right away. My current theory is they are waiting for the dust to settle from Block schedule then they will fire who they can afford to fire.. until then there's a hiring freeze so unless your store is over staffed they can't really afford to fire anyone until then.

For those that have 5 points or more. You just gave them a reason to fire you. They will fire you when theyre ready. Maybe not today or tomorrow but when its the right time. You just don`t know when.

People at your club have 50 points? That’s nothing, people at my club not only have 50 points, but yesterday a giant flying dragon swooped into the club and set fire to 15 different associates who all had perfect attendance!!

All 15 associates are in ICU at our local hospital, and on top of the incredibly painful burns, they all received an occurrence and points.

I have had it with a company that allows flying dragons to come into our club without a membership card! Mr. Sam would be rolling around in his grave if he knew how the leaders of his company today treats their people, even if their was no flying dragons back when he ran the company!

Yes it is still up to management to terminate associates. And associates know how lazy management is . We have people with way over 5 points still here. & we have people that management is approving their lates

System till ran by management

@xnr

So your #2 statement is your stance that managers are deflecting because nothing changed, except then you go on to list what actually changed?

How many calories an hour do you burn while you run around in circles? 😏

@ZiDDsxc-qho

That statement was made for 2 reasons:

1) To keep associates annoyed with the changes at ease ("Now if they screw up, they're just gone")

2) Management deflecting the fact that in all actuality, NOTHING CHANGED from the SMART system's old attendance, just the old system now in Workday with less leniency and less absences needed for an excuse to terminate (ie: 3 tardies = 1 absence, 4 total absences needed for coaching, then a 5th and a 6th for 2 more coachings, then a 7th for termination)

Basically...TLDR

Old system

21 tardies needed for termination

or

7 total absences needed for termination

New system

10 tardies/stay lates needed for termination

or

5 total absences needed for termination

TLDR of TLDR - hourlies got screwed as usual

ok so what this means is that 5 points does not automatically get you fired. the computer can not fire you like we were told it would....once again lie lie lie lie cheat cheat cheat. no matter what HO says local management will do their best to twist it.

30 points? What a big joke. That means management is not doing their job or they are waiting for house cleanup. Wait for it!!!
