Chase Mortgage Loan officers in Wisconsin

I hear they are hiring Chase Mortgage Loan officers in Wisconsin. I do not think there are layoffs, I think Chase is adding headcount. Things may be different outside of Wisconsin, I have no details on that but for Wisconsin things are not looking bad at all. We'll see what happens if a recession hits but for now things seem to be pretty good.

Now, you'll never know where things will go in future - a recession may hit and than what happens? Loans stops and Chase lays off Loan officers. Cannot do anything about it.

This is true! I was on the conference call that it was confirmed. This is a "pilot". Already did this in South Florida.

Completely wrong. They are hiring people to work at the CALL CENTER in Milwaukee. They have removed all of the retail HLA's (home lending advisors) from the branches in Wisconsin. They can either go to the call center (less money and a completely different job environment) if they happen to live close to Milwaukee (it's a big State), or they are out of a job.

This is a complete 180 degree change in Chases approach to mortgage. They are telling employees that they are "losing money" in mortgage. Chase's rates are NOT competitive and they won't give price exceptions anymore to match the competition (another complete change). Chase wants to be Quicken. They are going to be letting retail HLA's go and sending business to the call centers. NOT a good development. The person who wrote this original post obviously doesn't understand mortgage or the circumstances involved.
