I was one who was forced into 1-930 daily off Tuesday and Wednesday. I informed management I would be stepping down. Before hiring freeze was lifted, the rules have already changed. Rotating days off and some open, some close. I did a lot of thinking (rationally, not emotionally). I hope that you all decide not to jump off the boat just yet. Corporate is already changing things, management at my club has begun saying “subject to change” after every answer because corporate has already made them look stupid more than once. No offense, but most of the chosen openers at my club will drown within 30 days, especially in fresh. It’s not going to take them long to realize this wasn’t the best idea.......unless the plan all along was to get people to quit or coach them out for performance instead of ending jobs and offering severance packages. If that’s the case, kudos, job well done.

They wanted full timers and long time employees (who have higher wages) to quit and to have as much part timers as possible. It's to make more money. Anyone on here who screams about people quitting because of new policies that make living a typical life difficult are ridiculous. Sam's Club/Walmart are evil, and that's just a fact, stop siding with a faceless evil corporation and have compassion for the working man.

The sad part is if they continue this way eventually they will run the Clubs into the ground and shutter all stores. Leaving all the hard working associates in a bad spot while the ones coming up with the horrid ideas float away on their golden parachutes.
So now we can’t work on Father’s Day 🙄
“Thank you honey for the pretty picture you painted me and the cool socks! I love you too, so much so that earlier today daddy went into work and quit! I can’t wait to spend more time with you pumpkin, next week daddy is going to teach you how to roll pennies and take them to the bank. Mommy is also looking forward to having me at home more, because she may being working a little bit later at night at her new part time job. I know she already has a job, but we decided that if I can’t tuck you in at night, wake you up in the morning, and be waiting for you at home everyday, that daddy can no longer work for the meanies at Sam’s!”
ALL these clubs are is just a grocery store that's it but yet we will spend hundreds of thousand of dollars on ideas that don't work instead of making sure there is enough people in the club to help the people who pay to shop here. Every year it is all about eliminating people and benefits.
talk about jumping before thinking. the powers that be scheduled our yearly inventory for Fathers Day June 16. Thank you scams flub. About 7 of us so far are coming in to quit that day. That's what they want so were going to give it to them
1-9:30 is a blessing compared to the 3pm to 11:30 b---s--- I was offered.
Well Said
Sadly for a while they have jumped before actually thinking. Too many egotistical know it alls that are trying to impress themselves coming up with an idea that will have all eyes on them. Whether the ideas are even workable wasn't part of their fast talking equation. I bet it came from one of those RGM's or of the many "transitional" teams the market managers speak so interestingly about. A very small few market managers just follow their orders knowing new programs aren't going to work but their so scared of speaking up they go with it. Why so many "initiatives", as they call them, go down the toilet. There's also too many other market managers and above that have no clue how clubs even operate or run today. But their obsessed level of self-importance with each other overshadows everything else.
I myself am just done with their irrational ways and thinking. This was the last straw for me. I'm leaving either way. This place is way more stress then it should be. If it's not schedules then it will be something else. I deserve a better place to spend my days.
