Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Does Oracle offer incentives to stay?

Ever? Like trying to match new pay of an employee who is quitting or something like that?

A friend recently wanted to leave a startup he's been with for two years for a job at a more established company, and they bent over backwards to keep him - and they did in the end.

I'm just curious if this is an exclusively startup or smaller company thing?

Why would you want to stay if you have a better offer?! Get the hell out!

They have been known to try, yes, like -nhv said. They can't always match the offer that's luring the employee away but sometimes they do try.

Yes Oracle does do this if they want to keep you.
