Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

New rotation of scheduled days off is horrible.

I HATE this new rotation of scheduling. NO ONE WANTS SPLIT DAYS OFF!!! They used the excuse that some people were upset that they didn't get weekends off. Well I hope they are happy now! Instead of getting nine days off for vacation time you'll get 7. Instead of having two days off together every week you now get split days off. And with that comes only ONE weekend off. How is that fair to those of us that do not care about weekends off?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously. No one wants split days off. You are never away from the place

If you were scheduled days off together, you were lucky. The "schedule system" was supposed to rotate days off to begin with and fill in where the business was busiest. That never happened so now it's block scheduling. Once this test is over and a new CEO takes the helmet, it will be different. Honestly, I like having days off split. Not as burned out.

Ya i accepted the produce lead position under the guise of a fixed weekly schedule and 2 set days off in a row.. then they backpedal and the resulting schedule is horrid. I would have never accepted it under the current scheduling program of flip flop open closes, some where you close then open the next morning split days off etc etc.

I hate split days and have no use for Saturday's off. However, I think I'll be able to find someone to trade my Saturday's off for a weekday. But having to do this every week will be a hassle.

@gdt welcome to the silent majority that for the most part, like their jobs and appreciate having a regular paycheck. Why do so many people continue to work with us who hate this company or the job? Never made or makes sense to me. Not happy, by all means look elsewhere, but turning your life into being miserable over a job that seems to be by most people’s opinion on this site to be entry-level or a bridge job until a career job manifests itself is sad to think about.

“NO ONE WANTS SPLIT DAYS OFF...” really? So Mr. Gallup, how did you arrive at your polling data on this subject? Oh, I see, YOU do not like split days off, so NO ONE likes split days off 🙄

Let’s test your hypothesis a little. Would you say that with the current scheduling guidelines, that of the roughly 180 employees at Sam’s, that currently 50 people have regular 2 days off? I mean does all the people in Fresh get there 2 days off together? Carts, do they too get them off consecutively? At my club, floor associates sometimes get 2 off together, but the majority of the time they are split days off. How does your club run with so many people getting 2 days off in a row? At my club it seems like some people really only want 2 off in a row, but the majority do not seem to care enough to quit over it.

Bottom line to make any schedule work is to have more employees then shifts and positions.

Because this company will never give more than the minimum, expect alot of schedule changes.

I like having a straight schedule and having my day's split up. I like working weekends because it's busy and time goes faster so it doesn't bother me to work every weekend. I'm happy to have a job so no complaints from me.
