Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

The management and the employees have opposing interests

When we talk about everything that’s being done to the employees, most of us talk in the sense that the company is a structure where every employee works towards achieving the common goals and the management directs us towards those goals. That might have been the case “once upon a time” but in today's Corporate America the leaders and the employees are always on different sides, and today’s life at corporation is a constant battle of greed versus existence. If we keep that in mind, we will more easily come to the conclusion about why are we treated the way we are treated.

I do not like the fact home office seems to see us only as numbers and liabilities. Even with that , that is not the thing tht really irks me, The thing that irks me is how local management in the name of home office will twist every thing that comes along to their own liking. Any thing that seems as though it will be good for the hourly associate is twisted , lied about or otherwise obfuscated so that any benefit that may have come with it is wrung from it like wash water from a pair of jeans. I have seen for a fact over the years how local management would actually stay silent about things beneficial in order to keep associates from the said benefit. Heck if not for PPTO showing up out of the blue on the wire for us they would never have told us.

Local management act as though the associates are enemies from whom information is to be with held. They fail in a big way to see that home office regards them no higher than the hourly associates and in the field all of us are in the same big sinking ship. If they understood that they would not act as though they are so superior to us.
