Its currently going through the rumor mill that CVS will be adopting an old Eckerds model with SM running multiple stores to eliminate a lot of SM's and reduce payroll in the process. DL's have known about this for months and some have quit for either that reason or because they are going to remove all non Pharmacists DL's. They are piloting this in the Houston area and it has been a disaster.

Not sure how you think it was the best managers in the country chosen. When it was tested in my district my DL chose the stores and the manager to run them.
Corporate didn’t send a list saying: “ put ... in charge of 2 stores because he is the best in the company”.
Wrong. They only piloted in a few select markets. That’s hardly the best in the country.
F you and your fake news ! It happened.your a lazy sh-- or you would have been chosen to participate. They chose the best operator s in the country.
Fake news.
I was one of the people on the original test run . It is something that can be done, it took all my time , The DL loved it , he got paid I got to work my a$$ off ! Later they expanded it to 5 stores , I left and found a real job , f-- CVs . By the way I was held responsible for everything, sales, cash, schedules, inventory results , seasonal , backroom conditions in all stores!
I wouldn’t put it past cvs to try anything to save a buck! Even a failed idea, they will say that was then this is now.
You said it RUMOR
Not gonna happen
They tested it in 2 low volume stores. Which run on little staff so whenever there was a staffing issue at one it created an issue at both as the manager was being pulled in 2 directions. Plus, these stores run on such little payroll that a manager needs to work almost 50+ hours a week to get everything done. Multiply that by 2 stores and you see the problem.
We could manage 2 stores if we had enough supervisors to open and or close everyday. Why did it fail? We’re managers expected to be mod at 2 stores at once?
They piloted that in my district back in 2017. Epic failure and it was discontinued.
