Mary is on her way out the door. The focus isn't retaing good talent it's all about her agenda, not world class vehicles.

I was just about to post a question about this Take 2 program, and then I saw this thread is already here.

Why aren't they keeping the current engineers that don't need any more training, and are all ready to go? Is this seriously about the gender ratio BS?

Wow, GM must be going for that "women-owned business" label

Please continue cutting, particularly cut manager and above levels. They have been doing a lot bad things during their GM career, even God would like to forgive them. If B cut 80%, God will forgive you!

I'm an outsider here but GM advertisements are as repulsive as that job posting. I felt good buying from the competition. As bad as a layoff is at least you get out now while the severance checks don't bounce,... my advice though is to then change your bank, just in case.

They want diversity if the can pay them much less than the diversity employees they let go in February. I was a double diversity employee and I was laid off. I had been told the past few years that I was highly compensated so I knew I was a target.

It is one of Mary B's key imperatives to have females and other affirmative action classes grow dramatically at GM. Many of the females that are pushed early to Manager levels (while many males are much more qualified) do not have the experience to succeed on their own but they consider it a development opportunity and that diversity is more important than skill set. From my experience, many such female managers can never answer a question or make a decision on their own but first need to ask Senior Management. Not to say they are all that way but I would say about half fall in that category.

Been like this for two years now. Always room to hire if you are part of a privileged or protected class. Affirmative action is alive and well. It has only expanded in its inclusion.
