Heads up : stock plan gone before final layoff date

Last day as per the notification is 31 May for my group , today we realised that the unversed stock units are gone from our accounts . There was an initiative for us to be moved to a different org now looks pointless.

Seems odd that the unvested Stock Options or RSUs would be invalidated prior to a termination date as this would be management tipping their hand about the forthcoming layoff. I'm guessing somebody goofed on that one. Still, if the vesting date was later than the termination date you would lose the stock regardless. Guess this is a good time for employees to start monitoring their Fidelity accounts!

My unvested RSUs are probably in some janitors account.

If you're rif'd or leave before the full vesting period, you lose your unvested options. It's the plan policy and isn't specific to rifs, but some directors & vps (or if you're a buddy of one) are allowed to stay until July 1st so your options will vest. That's why you see a bunch of managers with no reports or admins any more still on the books until after Q1 starts. But the common folks don't usually have that option offered.

egm, ok, so they were stock that you could sell after certain number of years, but since you are being terminated they removed the stock?

At the point your employment is terminated(either by company or by yourself), your unvested stock shares/options will be invalidated.

Check your RSU agreements - Oracle should have sent you such agreements or other documents when you receive RSUs.
