I get that, in a realistic sense, the company won’t fail or have significant damage over one person that it lose or even several people, but can a company, that was built on knowledge and innovation of its workers really afford to use that statement as its motto when dealing with its own employees. Everybody is replaceable, but take that to literary , like they have, and before you know it they will lose a critical mass of knowledgeable and creative people.

Everybody but the 3 stooges because only they are capable of so royally f---ing up what once was a very successful company through a never ending series of boneheaded decisions. That’s what they get the big bucks for. You and I would just plain not be able to make so many stupid decision for so long because we would not be able to live with ourselves if we did.

It's easy to write original code. Maintenance work is difficult and s---s your momma balls.
You can replace maintenance workers... the people who did not write the original code. You can't replace creative people and those with a talent for conceiving and writing the original code.
I think there are mostly maintenance workers left, so it may not matter, maybe everyone is replaceable then.
The real trouble with using a lot of mediocre programmers instead of a couple of good ones is that no matter how long they work, they never produce something as good as what the great programmers can produce.
