New safes in inventory room

Anybody know what's going on with the safes in the inventory room? Was told only managers and keyholders will have codes to sell an iPhone 8 or higher and Galaxy so and higher. Welcome back to wait times

Just Google Verizon Store under the news tab and you get a buttload of stories about stores being robbed - all day, every day. All these stores are is a huge liability and now easy targets for crooks. Just another one of the million reasons to shut them down.

Armed Robber: “Give me ALL of the phones”

Me: “ Sorry, you have to wait 10 minutes. Yes, I’m serious. Can I get you some water or coffee? Would you like a free account analysis while you’re waiting?”

We are now being told we are not allowed to activate/push the silent alarms, because that will put us in more danger if a police presence arrives. These new policies are NOT SAFE or SMART. The company is worried about their bottom line, which they are insured for theft. These changes do not make us more safe in any way, in fact we are in more jeopardy than ever.

The safes are fine. And there is no override code. Not even the safe maker has one. That is the point of time delayed safes, and robbers know that.

Lol, well you already know this is two pronged. Can’t make a “naked” sale of a phone without approval, and Verizon doesn’t lose money by getting robbed, forget employee safety.

I agree. I asked the same question. I was told "They wont do that. It is proven to work. They are just here for the phones." Then i said ok but what if????? suprisingly I got no answer. subject changed.

There is def a "Manager Code" which is a manual override. We dont have that code tho. I pray every close shift I'm robbed at gun point and beaten up, so I can sue Verizon. They tell us to give the robbers whatever they want but put a 10 min delay in place. I once asked our Ops manager what stops the robbers from beating me up to get it opened quicker. They have nothing to lose anyways

Sketchy. Meanwhile...somewhere deep in the vast ocean an Admiral (not abreast on the Navy ranks... feel free to interject) picks up the red phone...fast forward (after a commercial break) - he and someone else in the submarine are calling code numbers before launching the sub missle...meanwhile in the boiler room (or whatever it's called), a coup d'etat forms...

We used to do this during a hot phone launch in the BlackBerry days in the northeast.

Had nothing to do with security, shady managers would say phone was out of stock if it wasn't a new line or an upgrade leaving with large amount of ATR (dating myself here)

These time delayed safes are gonna get someone k--led. If it's to the point where a time delayed safe is gonna save you the robbers aren't gonna believe there isn't a bypass.
