Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Is it true that coherence development is very slow now?

I was looking at https://hazelcast.org/use-cases/oracle-coherence-replacement/ to evaluate this for my new workplace as session caching to replace coherence cluster that costs f--- tons.

I do not know if the statement on the page is true and coherence development as slowed down, the ORACLE is trying to encourage us to move to 12.2.x version which the execs are trying to entirely replace with hazelcast new rather than upgrading to the new version.

I wonder if there is any innovation going on with Coherence or it is another one of the dead products?

Coherence development is more or less stopped when Ca me Ron pRudy was asked to leave some 5 years ago. They add small small features and bug fixes but there is no massive feature development anymore.
