Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

My health condition is limiting my availability now that the new schedule is in place

Not sure what to do? Before the new schedule was in place icould have worked without a problem and organize my doctor appointments and therapy, but now that seems to be impossible. Do you think they will have any empathy for my condition if I talk to the manager about this?

Omg HA! Yes of course! ALL managers live in the club as it is so do please bother them with your medical condition rant.

Sad to say.. they will not. Don’t bother trying to contact regional HR either ..She doesn’t care

And is only a mouthpiece. No solutions offered. I wish you luck but I doubt you will get a solution

I would first check with your doctors and see if they can be scheduled on your off days/ off time. Did you make sure you have two days off during the week to help with your appointments? Also, you could possibly contact ADA. They might be able to allow you to come in later/leave earlier. You might have less hours, but could use PTO as a benefit replacement. Finally, there is, for a full-timer, an intermittent LOA. This would ensure that even if you hit the FT/PT exceptions that you wouldn't lose your position, however, it is limited to a total of 12 weeks of whatever your average is per year. So, if you averaged 40 hours per week, it would be a total of 480 hours in a rolling year. You would really want to do this as a last resort, as once that protected leave is up in a year, it's gone for an entire year. Best to try to work it out with your doctors if possible.
