Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

SHORT TERM JOBS

Now that I am looking, the company is hiring short term nurse case managers. There must be some type of government assistance for hiring like this OR they pay less benefits out due to this.

These type of actions undermine all Humana jobs as this means they can short term all hirings and pick and choose.

I KNOW what SNP means. What I was referring to is EXACTLY what I was told in an interview. "We are SPECIALIZED and no body can do what we do without Special training. " Exactly what I was told in another dept. Who are they trying to kid? Everyone gets trained in at some time. EVERYONE. Putting oneself on a pedestal is exactly what the problem is.

If you havent noticed..... people are being terminated for stupid sh--. That way there is no severence pay. Workers like Mainframe being transferred to IBM so they can cut their overhead with benefits. Hire temp workers who don't get insurance or PTO.....its come to THAT now. Cut overhead. the more cuts we make the more bonuses the bosses get. They raised the level of expectations of projected income so you won't be getting an AIP. BUT you can bet your a-- that the board will. GREEEEED.

So you didn't hear about all the IT moving to IBM? IT depts are being undermined by outsourcing to India and now Phillipines. ITs happening now. Americans are losing foot hold on good jobs and the CEOs all are buying property overseas for retirement purposes. Even your beloved Obama.

@US Techworkers Also, these companies get around the WARN act due to laying off in small sums and Work at home folks (Anthem,UHG, BCBS are large WAH Employers) don't have to report them as they aren't assigned to an "office" I will not rest until congress does something about the insidious H-1B/L-1/OPT/H4EAD program. US workers need to unite in LARGER numbers and march through the halls of congress protesting against bad bills like HR1044/S386, and reforming the whole H-1B visa program so that it protects American workers, and allows truly deserving high-skilled immigrants a chance to contribute to the American economy that benefits EVERYONE.
