Truck issues...

We have been having major issues as our truck is consistently being delayed and it’s near impossible to make a schedule when you never know when the truck is coming till the day of. Complain to corporate and there answer is “deal with it”. Turns out there’s a shortage of available truck drivers.

Anyone else have this problem and what do you do about it? And WHY is there such a shortage of drivers?

I second the comment about lumberton, they have a huge turnouver rate, short staffed and removed a shift for the warehouse as well so we either get half of our truck from another DC or a day late truck

Fredericksburg DC has always been a joke. I was SM for 6 years and called them at least 1-2 times a month with delivery issues.

I was talking to my driver last week, he runs out of Fredericksburg DC . He said that they (union) were in negotiations and that CVS was talking about subbing the drivers out from another company. He said that other Whses have done that and the new company had driver shortages and the loads were not getting to stores on time. CVS trying the cheap way.

It’s all that back to school candy that they deliver on the 90° days...Every time I think about CVS processes I got a laugh.

Truck driver told me they eliminated the 3rd shift at the warehouse meaning the trucks aren't loaded on time anymore. The drivers are just as p-ss-d off with this company as we are. Luckily I've only got 3 weeks left before I start the new gig. The grass is greener folks. Spruce up those resumes. You CAN get out.

CVS is still operating in the 20th century with their distribution centers. Never have had the motivation to put the responsibility on the centers to get the product to the stores timely and as scheduled. Leadership simply tells them to do better and cuts their budgets year after year. Add stores and cut expenses. After a few years of no improvement leadership terminate Distribution leaders and starts over saying they will do better. NOW the stores have NO extra staff making it impossible to handle unloading and getting the delivery up within company guidelines. ( 24 hours or less ) This is just another example of leadership more interested in the earnings report. Doesn't seem to be sustainable. Stock was $120 now $55... Just one more reason they need new blood at top executive levels not just mid management!

Lumberton NJ is having major delay issues too. It’s s---s having to change everyone’s schedule last minute. We have 2 trucks a week that have been delayed 24-48 hours for the past month.. hopefully they figure out their load issues soon.
