What is the latest with health and wellness? Can anyone shed light on what is going on in the company now ie market director eliminations or other layoffs
I think Facebook is a real good idea. How else can we support each other. It would be fantastic if we could share resources and support each other. It would be nice if we could share job opportunities and education opportunities. There maybe other resources we could share. Why would that not be good idea?
Don’t think FB is a good idea, much better feedback if people can post anonymously.
Corporation name.
When is someone going to start a Facebook page? Do it generic as pharmacy lay-off. Don’t use a cooperation name
Keep up supporting each other and get the word out to future students pharmacy is not stable. They will be in hugh debt with a hard job market. Don’t let the pharmacy schools fake them out into thinking there is a need for pharmacists. Everything will be automated and the need will go down.
I agree , I don’t want to work for CVS. I haven’t gotten hungry yet. Being hungry is the only way I’ll work for them. I hope I can find something so it doesn’t come to that. Everyone that has ever worked for them complains.
I think the only company hiring is CVS. But I won’t work for them. No way been there done that before. I’ll look for anything else.
Have any of you thought about filing a class action lawsuit for age discrimination? You have 180 days to file an age discrimination complaint with the eeoc. You dont need an attorney!
This is definitely hard on all of us. It's a time of redefining. The only job I could find close to home was with CVS so I took that. Who knows what the future holds but it's best to see the silver lining. I haven't seen my severance pay yet but I didn't mail it out until a week after I got the paperwork
Did everyone get their severance yet? Did it come via fed ex? Mine was suppose to be direct deposit and it was not.
I'm over 50 and no job and no prospects without moving.
Yes. 62 here. Full time with bennies at an independent. Didn't have to move. Took a cut in pay, but stress is gone so I didnt care.
Has anyone over the age of 50 found a job?
Looks like all retail companies having a tough time. Store closings. The future of retail is gonna be online. I have even seen malls closing. It’s time for many of us to reinvent ourselves. This is not an easy time as we have had so much invested. Change is never easy. As soon as we get our severence we should have a Facebook to connect.
For the person asking, I received my severance via direct deposit.
I still feel victimized and violated. I feel betrayed. You are not the only one who is having hard feelings. I have told myself to move on. I am feeling better daily.
It’s a job. It’s a means to make money. It does not represent u. We are all just numbers on a piece of paper to them but to the world we hold much more value. How many of us were really happy working for that. Crazy company? Not me. So in good time I’ll have another job. Meanwhile life goes on.
@zemf
Reach out for help. You need to lean on others right now. We are all used to being the person people reach to and it is extremely difficult to suddenly feel out of control. When you feel down come on this board and vent to others who understand what you're going through. Know that the company is not worthy of causing you this much anguish. Know that you have done nothing wrong. Know that there are others out there suffering and understand your feelings. I am confident that one year from today you will be happier than you are right now.
Hang in there.
We all still have access to resources for living for 18 months after termination. That includes 3 face to face counseling sessions per issue per year. And unlimited phone consultations. I used my 3 and then got more for another issue. Please use the service and if nothing else it will be more money coming out of their pockets. It really helped me to talk about what they did with a professional and learn about acceptance. I know it feels like a bad dream but we have to accept what happened even though we don’t agree with it
So I watch a lot of financial reports. The Walton family just sold billions of their stock. I wonder what they heard in the board room to prompt this. I’m sure their falsely elevated stock price from the trump tax cut on corporations last year will b trumped by the tariff that are coming. Walmart is struggling and other online retailers are winning.
If u are depressed over this do not feel alone. I had to go on lexapro for a bit. This is what evil empire corporations do. Do not take it personally. My DM had a heat attack and the one that took over is close to one. No corporation is worth ur health or ur life. Please seek support and health if u are depressed. I did.
I received my severance but after taxes it wasn’t that much. I had to move to find work as I am only breadwinner in family and need income plus insurance. The saturated market where I live did not have that. The reason I am posting this am is bc I almost took my life last night. But I didn’t for some reason. I’m still here. Always crying. Always miserable. I liked my life. And it’s all changed. I have a new job now. And I just don’t understand why I can’t quit crying about this. I know it could be so much worse. People have bigger problems. I just don’t know how to cope and no one understands. Does anyone else feel this bad or is there something wrong with me?
So after reading the severance papers it says we can reapply after our severance. I
wonder how many will go back?
Thanks if u don’t mind me asking was it direct deposit or fed ex? I’m suppose to get my severence this week and not sure how it’s coming. I have done direct deposit for my payroll and they say it’s coming that way.
I received my severance on the 19th
Did anyone get severence yet?
Don't let this thread die!
The company has screwed us over and we should not rest until we do all we can to support each other and get the word out to the public (OUR public) about what they did and how they did it. A March on Bentonville was mentioned, and while I'm not sure how practical and logistically viable such a march would really be, I love the idea behind it.
If the company needed to cut costs, there were more fair and transparent options to do so. They chose to screw us.
The public should know.
Still trying to figure out the parameters. I did have a high hourly rate but I was no slouch. I drove everywhere and filled in. I see people that were not willing to do what I did and are still there.
I think they are still short coverage bc my friend who works as hourly is getting called to go to stores she never works at.
Talked to my former co workers the other day and they are scared every time the DM comes in! The central fill facility for that location is in Houston so, the hurricane and flooding can affect an entire region of stores. My Dad always said “don’t put all your eggs in one basket”.
Pharmacy has always been about customer service and you can’t do that with less staff and central fill.
To all our former colleagues and fellow pharmacists currently with Walmart-what is happening currently in the operation? Any rumors? New policies? What have you noticed in management?
Central fill on handhelds now. Zero job security
Oh here comes the central fill. One of my friends said people are flying in from corporate to have meetings. What kind of bad news they bringing now? The stress of working for them had to be so crazy now. Good Riddens China mart.
Am in Southeast Fla, an hourly rph, but am receiving next to nothing now. I used to average around 20 hrs a week.Trying to pick up any posted hours but my bids are constantly rejected. Am guessing they just want hourlies to go away?
Evil empire running the company on tax payer subsidies. All the execs put money in their pockets with the tax break. Cut the workers and keep the fat management. The execs are getting fatter paychecks while the workers can barely put good on the table. I’m not shopping at Walmart ever again.
The transition number told me the severence will b direct deposit 10/3. I secured a job with a pbm as a senior quality analyst. Omg so much less pressure. No games just straight forward. I took a 40 k paycut but I don’t live in fear every day. I work Monday thru Friday 8 to 430. I go to lunch in a beautiful cafeteria and I don’t have anyone screaming in my face. No stress for me.when u work at Walmart u live in constant fear of loosing ur job. My health is getting better every day.
I feel so relieved not to be at Walmart anymore. What a hellish working environment. Being away from there has shown me that I should have left earlier. There are far better places to work for.
Called the transition team and was told severance should be available on the 19th or early october. To those who got jobs already congrats! To those of us still looking, what are your plans? Staying in pharmacy? changing career? Going back to school?
Does anyone know when we get severance after paperwork is signed? I was able to secure a job starting Monday. It’s not retail bc the stress level too high. I took a pay cut but at least I am working.
