Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oci and Recent results

How much is oci’s share in recent results? Couple of managers from oci reached to me saying ‘really good time to join oci and its going to get exciting in coming days’. Not sure if they are just baits but wanted to know, Is oci really contributing to oracle’s stock? Little worried to trust these managers.

“Fyi. This forum is full of people who went through layoffs and trying to get over the bitter experience and move on to a hopefully better place... soo.. what's your point on the lay off comment above?”

That there are laid off leaders and laid off a---kissers from AWS at O.

Oracle has layoffs whereby it lays off competent, experienced people just to save some money; Amazon/AWS does not have layoffs. They do, however, seem to fired people whom they deem sub-par. Me thinks the point that was being made is that some people who are now at OCI we’re fired. Huge difference

"Remember, ithey are lead by a laid-off AWS engineer."

I didnt know this. I suppose you verified that information. In any case, are you saying people who gets laid off from a company is not capable or doubtful to do great things in another company?

While you really should stay away altogether if you have other options, Bay Area is definitely in worse position than Seattle when it comes to oci. And @ZHO4E33-ppu is spot on.

Its not about Bay Area or Seattle. Avoid anything to do with cloud at oracle, they simply have no competence in cloud and clearly lack leadership to do anything. Remember, ithey are lead by a laid-off AWS engineer.

Unfortunately, you can't trust anyone. You don't know what they are up to. Are they adding people as a layoff pad for themselves? Will you just be there to layoff later, just in case?

You should look yourself for an area you want to join, or leave Oracle and work for a company that is doing well and really wants to hire you.

Actually they’re contributing to the EPS. The EPS would be additional 15 percent if that teams didn’t exist

You are right to be skeptical. My advice is stay away. Many better companies you could join out there
