How long does it take to receive severance after you stop working? The problem in New York is that if you receive severance in less than 30 days after layoff date, you won't be eligible for unemployment insurance for a certain period of time depending on the size of severance. Any tips on how to avoid this situation?
Two weeks a year for the first eight and three weeks a year after that up to a year max. You should get 31 weeks. Got my notice last week. Good luck.
roughly 1 year to 1 paycheck
I saw the email this morning but the link didn't seem to work
Seriously? Just read the plan details on the intranet regarding severance plan.
I went through it a few years ago at Chase. You should get about 7 months pay as severance as long as you sign the document indicating you will no sue Chase for any reason. I got 60 days notice. I ended up relocating to a different location and staying with the company. Bottom line - between Chase severance and unemployment benefits you will have a long time to find a new position.
22 weeks pay
