Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

The company is purposely folding in on itself?

This is a massive consolidation. Simply losing to Costco and Amazon wasn't moving fast enough so the bigwigs have kicked it into high gear.

  1. Close 100 clubs

  2. Eliminate tons of hourly and management positions

  3. Change systems and processes with as little training as possible

  4. Put up smokescreen of promising pay increases for Fresh associates

Walmart would be in trouble legally for some type of corporate fraud if they openly caused Sam's club to go bankrupt so instead they are strategically sabotaging it to fail as many ways as possible.

Managers don’t know what to do their roles have changed. Talk about being set up for failure now your over everything. Leads have no specific area over everything really. What department do I feel like working in today. I’ll do electronics today less work, no wait I’ll hide in hard-lines today away from members. It’s like they’ve f---ed up the last few changes they just keep the f--- ups going. Here’s one for you slow down, see what works before you move to the next thing. YOLO so make a damn difference stop the BS.

I get the same feeling that Sam's is going under and everything is about Walmart. Everything on the WIRE is all about Walmart. About to start block scheduling and employees are leaving left and right every day. Positions are opening up and now you have to apply for position which I can guarantee will be replaced by a favorite employee instead of the most qualified or seniority. I also feel that GMs will be eliminated that can't get this change to work. Coaches are starting to complain because they see changes in their positions too. None of them know who or what they are in charge of because those areas of responsibility are changing every day. I just hope I can get a new job before it folds.

100% believe they are working towards a massive consolidation of the business. Look at how many positions between market level and home office have been cut in the last 4 years. It is believed the regional fresh manager role is the next one to be cut sometime before the end of the year.

I've seen it before. Failure by design.
