It puzzles me is that so many folks here got RSUs. I thought they are for "loved" employees ... who aren't likely visiting a website like this.

Grade 8 = $12000

Grade 10 = $15000

Grade 11 = $20000

sometimes this site is valuable and sometimes I laugh. Nothing has been allocated or given yet so all of you either don't work at Cisco or just want to be be asses by throwing random numbers out there.

For those of you who are all responding 0 have they even been issued yet for your team and you were just left out or not issued for your teams yet? I know for my team (G10 in SE org) nothings been issued yet.

Don’t get hung up about how many RSUs you are issued, or not issued.

It’s not what you make, it’s what you save.

If planning to stay for the long term...think about this:

  1. Max out your 401k.

  2. Max out your ESPP.

  3. When prior quarters’ ESPP shares are fully qualified, sell your original cost (only your original cost), for that prior quarter.

  4. Take the recovered fully qualified ESPP cost and place in index funds in ROTH IRA.

  5. Get a 15 year mortgage and make one extra payment a year.

Spend a decade a Cisco doing the above, even at medium level grade, and you’ll be set long term...good best egg, good 401k anchor, and very limited debt. It works.

What’s the point you’re getting to? Different grades, different target. If someone says $5k worth of rsus and another says $30k, seems unfair, but look at grade level, performance, and other factors. This is a dumb post
