Thread regarding CVS layoffs

There IS a great need for store managers at CVS

Back when they eliminated the assistant store manager position in favor of operations manager, they said at the meeting we had that there would be a push for more people to become store managers. Our ASM chose to go down to ops supervisor because they didn’t want to go to SM. So yes there IS a great need for store managers at cvs! And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why store managers are in such high demand! Ironically they did also say that if you became a smit, there was no guarantee you’d get your own store, but they did talk of the great need for SM’s.

Good post from @Z5Ve9Qz-1fla.

I am not the same poster that the last responded to, but I too attended the meetings in question. Not one person was terminated. All ASM who had the will and skill to be a manager were moved to the SMIT position. Others were moved into other jobs, but not because of a quota.

To the last poster, I am not sure what you are trying to do but the made up stories about walking around knowing ASMs we’re going to be termed? You bore me. Yawn.

Except when they removed the assistant manager position in my district, we had a meeting about it, and they essentially said we’re streamlining the management system and eliminating the ASM position, but assistant managers were given the opportunity to go up to smit, or go down say to ops supervisor, etc.

The mother ship is taking on water, only a matter of time before they sell out.

The reason there are no longer ast managers is because they class actioned and won , your company removed that position and now are working managers to death . All ast managers were terminated across the company on the same day . Dm could not tell any of the employees and could not save them in anyway . Your Dm violated the agreement if they saved anyone now all the other ast managers have grounds to file suit , discrimination occurred . Rules of no disclosure were signed by all the people in the know. We walked around for months knowing we were going to terminate the hard working ast managers and could not save any. This is the company that leads with heart

This happened 4 or 5 years ago and has nothing to do with now. Your logic is lacking.

At this point anyone can be a store manager , look around at the no talented people in charge and look at your store conditions. There is no turning this mess around. You r going in debt to buy your growth , you r creating none , just buying it . As retail goes your ceo said today on camera that he did not want to be a convenient store with a pharmacy.
