Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

It's a win win

I honestly love my job. I don’t know where the hate is coming from? We don’t have to be productive and the managers don’t have to hold people accountable anymore it’s a win win. I truly hated hitting goals and targets always having activities tracked, now I just show up and do what I want when I want. Wells Fargo is where it needs to be losing revenue and cutting expenses to improve profit. I also love our 401k match proud to be a team member.

Agreed, @Z2uOSPW-1ler.

Many across Wholesale aren’t doing anything or very little. I was able to goof off for 2 years without my manager asking what I did. It was incredibly boring but the pay was great. Near the end of it I started having the bank pay for training so I could get some of my IT certifications. Then when layoffs were announced, I was lucky to get a package. I had several job offers from competitors. Still can’t believe how many at Wells can get away without doing anything and still get paid. It’s fun for awhile but it really gets boring

Also if any one try’s to challenge you or put you on a performance improvement plan for low production, raise your hand and report them to the ethics immediately!!!! They wont dare try it ever again. Then l it’s back to doing whatever you want. The District managers & Regional presidents are scared these days and won’t take the risk of having you be accountable for sales production.

I agree 100% best paying bank in the industry compared to required production.

Honestly best bank right now to work for. Competitive base pay, decent benefits and you don’t have to produce at all in customer facing roles. No performance plans. Absolute zero production/profit made for the bank and managers can’t do a dam thing about it :) As long as you do your “activities” your a star.

Can confirm all of this. 6 years with WF. Am a late 20’s branch banker making 70k with literally no performance goals. As long as I show up, I’m good. I have seen bankers view customers as a waste of time because they are unhappy with the comp structure now. The right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing because all of the asset cap restrictions placed by the feds. Management is VERY careful with their wording in meetings. Using terms like “activity goals,” and “growth.” It’s not just community bank. There is a reason an article comes out every once in a while about advisors jumping ship to other firms.

WF also doesn’t fire producing roles that are customer facing, I have that :) I just don’t do my job effectively. I am safe trust me.

The closing of branch’s, layoffs and offshoring is happening already in front of your eyes. I am just saying if your at a bank struggling to be effective jump to WF collect a check for zero accountability. Solution is simple.

Clearly I do and take full advantage of the 6 match for zero production. I just re invest in to different market funds so my production is not not depended on it. Look I am not trying to make trouble just saying WF is the best bank to sit on your arse with no consequences.
