Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

This person left that person left..... constantly

This company has created a vacuum of talent that has come and gone period. The door continues to swing constantly. All I hear like every week is something new this person left that person left..... constantly. The reputation in Malta is so bad people are just quitting. Is the grass greener on the other side ? Well it seems it is because people dont want to work in an enviroment such as malta where nobody seems to care at all. The gritting feeling of stagnation fills the room so much that even new hires arent going to hang around the negativity is in the air the lack of structure is in the air. So whos left to eat that big fat turd the poor fools that stay because they live in a small box and stay out of desperation and fear or their world changing. Thats right Malta has created bad attitudes in their workers so much to the point that they're waiting for the next shoe to drop. When people are waiting for the bad news constantly it creates a wave in the company like a virus and its super contagious. Trust you would do well to leave now or just sit in the hole and die slowly.

Seems that @Ywv8vL5-2uum was talking about Malta, but this post paints a good picture of the situation in the entire comp

Its really not that bad at all. The pay and benefits are some of the best in the area. You guys need to look at the bigger picture. Work is work. What's important for anyone is life outside work. So what if there are pockets of low moral and chaos at GF. You'll encounter this situation a lot over the course of your career. I've never had a problem with those down periods at a company. For me it's actually a great situation. Hear me out. There is no accountability. You can pretty much have your run of the place and if you mess up there are no consequences. I had terrible performance years at GF and was actually promoted regardless. Most of the goals I put down never need to be accomplished as the chaotic nature of this business means the plans change not long after and void any responsibility for completing them. So I know to just work on what I like working on and in the end I had fun and it still works out just fine. People are leaving, and calling in sick all the time. Fine by me! I make sure I call in sick on the average rate everyone else does in the dept. It's free vacation days and no one really cares or complains. And if people are quitting, I look at that as job security and promotion opportunity. Win win for me, why would anyone complain about that? Don't really care if the work load gets bigger, I still walk out that door everyday when I have to get back to my family. Just prioritize the important stuff and whatever's left over ain't getting done. You people who constantly dwell on negative this and negative that are really doing yourself and your career a disservice. Ignore all that, ignore what other people are doing and saying, and focus on making the best out of any situation life throws at you.

Yeah, heard that already. What was so insightful that you found it necessary to have its own thread? Does somebody need attention?
