Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Onlyly AWS and Microsoft considered for JEDI

https://www.nextgov.com/it-modernization/2019/04/pentagon-says-no-jedi-conflict-narrows-field-aws-and-microsoft/156216/

Oracle still has a lawsuit going but chances to get in on JEDI dim.

Microsoft and AWS are being considered.

Does the autonomous database run in those? It better. Not good if your job depended on getting JEDI.

I think it SHOULD go to AWS on merit. Practically speaking, I think they WILL split it AWS/MIcrosoft to avoid more haggling, hearings, lawsuits over one vendor. That means more consultant money to help blend 2 cloud providers. But although wasteful better than dealing with loser Oracle.

Dilemma for Oracle is LE rejected TK idea of run on other clouds. Either have to do over or just lose out entirely. Da#n LE you $crewed up bigly. $ugartime and progenytime bad idea for Oracle when capacity slipping to multitask. But you don't care about that do you.

It's going to MSFT. Trump's not gonna give it to AMZN. Bought some MSFT calls.

SC's too whinny to be able to be considered. Also, if they have taken care of their employees better(like a yearly raise) instead of buying back stock, maybe more people would've had ORCL's back.

I'm in EBS so none of this really affects me.

The politics is coming from Oracle, because they literally don't meet the minimum requirements so they're playing dirty and trying to get the rules changed.

Google also didn't meet the minimum requirements, but at least they bowed out gracefully by claiming that their staff were against creating tools to kill people after internal protests.

Interestingly Microsoft staff also protested. But even though Microsoft always touts "ethical AI", there's no way they're going to walk away from $10B.

Amazon doesn't even pretend to care about the ethical side, which probably makes them the most honest of the lot.

Probably lots of politics involved and money under the table to get that contract.

Why would the govt go with Oracle when they have the top dogs of Microsoft and AWS. What a joke that Oracle even submitted their application to be considered.
