OPAS is so irrelevant that many Oracle employees have no idea what you’re talking about, and just add it to the poke of meaningless gibberish and acronyms that make communications inside the company a disaster.
Look, the 3 stooges don’t give a rat’s a-- about people or people management and all that, and that attitude flows down just like sh--, so none of this will ever make any difference, get over it and move on
i got a level 5 for 6 years in a row, mainly thanks to 2 very good managers who gave me also some raises and a couple of IC improvements. I was also in the pipe to become an IC6.
Then I changed manager, and from the very beginning I understood she was just a spreadsheet maker. Without changing a single bit in my daily job, I got from her a 3 last year, and from all the discussions done during the quarter's alignment, I will have a 2 this year, even if I have a lot of thank you mails from sales directors and sales reps. Bah, it is what it is, I no more care.
So it is true that OPAS is not related to what you are doing but only to your manager's opinion of what you are doing. And it is true OPAS by itself will not guarantee any advantage in terms of raises, it depends only by your manager.
I got 5 (outstanding) for 6 years, No change apart from more work, I am sure 5,4,3 will not working in Oracle, It you have to grow, You have to Lick your manager A$$, And you should be Yes master for your imm manager.
Nope. I was level 5 (outstanding) for 3 consecutive years, it didn’t change my life an inch.
