When I worked with the Pentagon about ten years ago it was shocking how fast smartphones were being hacked and broken into. Essentially they could turn your phone into 100% monitoring and as both a tracking device and listening device.
Now we want to make our cars more like smartphones, how long do you think it will take to break the code on them?
I prefer a simple IC vehicle that only needs a key to start and safe driver to operate. Not ready for the day that I need to spend $70k on a vehicle that someone in China can take over control systems.

Last time I checked people like to drive cars , classic cars , tricks , new sedans , motorhomes all of it. It's a complete crock of p--poo , these companies are run by p--poo heads ! Yep I said it , fossil fuels are yummy.
Autonomous is a pipe dream. Complete joke. Automakers can’t even make an electric car that people want to buy, yet they somehow think they can make an autonomous one? LMAOOOO. id--t executives want to be heroes. Just wasting money. Even if these cars hit market (doubt it), they will be overpriced and not as safe as normal vehicles. Costs more. Not as safe. When has that added up? Hmm....NEVER. id--ts. All of them.
I will not buy an autonomous car. But I will buy a car if the prices come down. Make a car with a straight 6, basic comfort options and price it under 20K then you will see your market share rise.
No one wants this autonomous garbage. DARPA started this program with autonomous vehicles and they work for our government.
