Front End Block Scheduling

Can someone that already has block scheduling in their club please explain to me how this will work for mss’s? We have 4 full timer mss’s including the team lead. So will there be 2 openers and 2 closers? We also only have 1 part time cos who I assume would do mid shifts but she is in school so I don’t even think she can work mid shifts all the time, also what would happen on her days off? Who would mid to cover lunches? Just trying to figure out how all this will work out.

Our club has six MSS half will go to day's 600-230, half will yo to nights 100-930 we also have responsibility for audit of HBA and baby wall. We have six registers and eight self-checkouts. We were told block with set days off Mon Tue, etc. THEN they came back block but rotating so you get 1 weekend a month off. So the example showed you have 5 MSS . You get a Sat Sun then have to work 6 days straight to get your next day off which is a Sunday then a Thursday. Had 2 days together not perfect but doable. Now back to split days off and unhappy teams. Managers telling our Hosts that they are same as membership desk, but screwing the 7 and 5 year people giving them nights over newbies getting days and preference. They say if we are the same put us at membership. Nope. Night walkers are losing their positions due to schedule changes some have 2 jobs or home issues needing to work overnights being FORCED to resign.

Membership desk will have to do a lot more than just desk. You will be register one day, door another, club pickup the next.

All M.S.S. are leads now, or at least starting June 26th .. it's great news for me cause I'm a M.S.S. and I've been trying to get promoted for a while to team lead. But from what I understand their are two shifts for that job, one is 6am to 2.30 am, and the other is 1 to 9.30. Basically same as before. The accounting associate is no more, and the deposit will be completed by the opening mss. I love it cause I got promoted, more responsiblity, and pay increase. I also get the feeling that all leads will be expected to know other areas... which I already do. Either way I'm excited about it.

So if only one opens and one closes then what happens on their days off? Everyone still needs 2 days off..

Your 1-9:30 and the p/t are the early shifts. If you have too many Cos’s you will work possibly membership, t-b-cco, club pickup, carts, greeter etc... this is why cross training was the focus a few months ago. Basically you work what ever positions they need you to.

They don't answer because nobody really knows! We all have to wait and ride the wave like always.
