Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Unofficial official layoff report 3/31/2019

Looks like another 100 people or so lots their jobs this past week, maybe a clean up to prior week’s layoffs. That brings the total since 6/1/2016 to 21,836 and counting. Keep looking for jobs outside of oracle my friends, keep looking.

"victims who died on 9/11"

That's an absurd leap/analogy.You denigrate those on 9-11 by likening them to getting laid-off.

"I think I can speak for most readers and posters"

Nope. you just simply can't. No one made you hall monitor here.

We? You speak for the collective?

The description of this board is "Topics regarding layoffs at Oracle Corp." So yeah, I think I can speak for most readers and posters when I say we are focused on layoffs here. If you're looking for insight into the overall health of the company, there are plenty more reliable and appropriate places to look for information.

kinda changes the dynamics, dontchathink

Not really. Are you one of those people who would look at all the victims who died on 9/11 and ask "But how many new births were there that day?".

"cheeper labor in some low-cost geography, you're still laid off."

Speculation. If anything, OCI has been nothing but more costly hires.

"only thing we care about on this board, hence the name, thelayoff.com"

We? You speak for the collective? That aside, it does matter, if a company lays-off 1000, but adds 2000 --- kinda changes the dynamics, dontchathink?

What narrative? T.I. is trying to keep track of people who were cut, not Oracle's overall business. If you get laid off and replaced by cheeper labor in some low-cost geography, you're still laid off. That is pretty much the only thing we care about on this board, hence the name, thelayoff.com.

" total since 6/1/2016 to 21,836"

So why the arbitrary year of 2016? And where is the hired number since then? Wouldn't that provide more balanced look. You know, a net amount.

Wait, there's already that information readily available. So it looks like net affect is positive. There goes your narrative.
