Thread regarding CVS layoffs

It's So Funny...

..to watch a RVP, come into your store for a visit, no background in Pharmacy, and then totally "salivate" over the existing Pharmacy, totally ignoring the Front Store Manager. Absolutely hilarious.

All of the SM's need to learn, if you do not already know how to use, and edit Notes, on the IPAD. In that way, anytime you get a visit, either from the DL, or, the RVP, you will be able to stand in Pharmacy, like a mo--n, and talk notes of what is said, and send them, not only to yourself, but, to your DL, and your PM.

Talk about simple minded.

Only 1% of stores are 10k a week in sales with higher volume stores getting upwards of 100k. Margins are closer to 40%, not 30. Front stores turn a profit. My argument is that front stores are not going away, not that they make more money than rx. They component eachother, you don’t have as many scripts without the front store and front store doesn’t have as much foot traffic without the RX. You should do more research before you post about things you know nothig of. id--t

What is "mantenace"?

No one will take you seriously if this is how well you spell.

So fine, IF the pharmacy IS where all the actions at, then close up ALL the cvs stores and then see how long the company survives. Or rather how about a world where FS & RX work together. So much animosity between fs and rx and yet we all work for the same company. Does it really matter which part makes more money? Remember people still need personal products like shampoo, deodorant, etc. IF people get their pr-scrip-ions at cvs and their personal products somewhere else, how does that help cvs?

Who buys 1 million in inventory to sell $10,000 a week! You are a damn id--t . Out of that 10,000 in sales you gross 3000 and out of that 3000 you pay half in taxes now you have 1500 left , that doesn’t pay the high price manager. So now you have nothing left and , rent , mantenace , power, water , labor , and you have to repurchase the cost of goods! So guess where that money comes from , Rx margins! Front store is gone people !

Front store isn’t going anywhere. Shrinking at some point? Possibly, but never going away. When someone doesn’t feel good, but doesn’t want to go to the dr(happens all the time) they are never going to wait 2 days for their NyQuil in the mail. OTC Medicine means there will always be relevance for a front store. Retailers are failing because of amazon and online shopping in general, but there will always be people who prefer to shop in person. The more retailers that fail just means the ones that are the last man standing will get those customers. My district the front is up almost 5%, scripts are down 3%.

This is true

We need both

The same would be true if we had a small gs selection where there is competition.

Margins mean sh--...people need medicine everyday, they are the only reason people come into the front store to buy overpriced goods. If fs stood alone you’d be knocked out of business by amazon and Walmart in a hurry

People forget that rx margin (22%) is dropping every year while fs margin (45%) is on the rise. It's not whether or not fs is the future its whether or not retail pharmacy is the future. You aren't safe just bc your in the pharmacy.

I’m a shift at a store where all three full time pharmacists have a key to the store so that they can get there before a front store manager. We open at 8:00 am and they often get there before one of us.

Except the pharmacy requires a manager or shift supervisor to open the store for them, so that they can open the pharmacy! Ironic isn’t it?
