Anybody find a job internally? Did you have to relocate, now have a long commute or take a demotion? I didn't even try to look internally and just chose option 2 to leave on 2/18/2019.

I know of one super-qualified network/cloud guru (should NOT have been laid off!), who has to move across country for his new internal position, and one 1st level manager who got extended for a month, which covered his need for 2 weeks to meet his modified Rule of 75.
Everybody else (maybe 50 that I personally know), no matter what their skills or need, GONE.
I just ran into someone today who found an internal position on the last day, 3/29.
How about those who go out on imaginary disability? Then they are magically cured just after the mass exodus to increase their odds of securing a new position. Now that is a perfect employee.
Guy I know got a position to move to another state at the very last minute. So I guess it can happen if you are willing to uproot your family and move where you might end up on the surplus list again in a short amount of time. If you like the new location better than the old one and think there would be more opportunities there, go for it. I wonder if AT&T provided any relocation.
I applied for over 200 jobs, never landed one. I was willing to relocate and take a downgrade. I am one of the few in my workgroup that actually live close enough to a collaboration area yet I was selected. We were initially told it was location based obvious excuse. Pretty sure I was selected because I am 3 years from the Modified rule of 75. 3 from our team selected were the oldest. None of us found jobs. How can the company get away with this.
Yep, today was last day on payroll. Wasn’t in a collaboration zone, not even close to one. Applied for the scant jobs posted, not a reply from any.
Of all the folks I knew who got hit in January, not ONE of them found another job within the company.
Today was kind of sad getting all the emails saying goodbye to everyone who is left behind :|
What bugs me most is the fact everyone I know who got hit were all in their mid-40's with ~20 years or more service.
I would love to see the official numbers on what percentage of those laid off were over the age of 40.
Strange that today of all days they have "service issues"...
I applied for 135 internal jobs. Got to see approx 50 progress to Hiring Dept Review. Few days later I get notified We Didn't Make A Match. My boss and even my VP went to bat for us to make contact with hiring mangers. As of today I turned in my Ltop and Badge. One Sr. Bus Mgr position they are trying to get me an interview for but no response from the Hiring Manager. If nothing happens today I think it is final. I know if 7 others who lost their jobs and none of them found another position. $uck$ To Be Me
Of the 5 people I know, just one found a job. And that was only because they previously worked in the dept that had the opening. The other 4 never got any replies in the jobs they applied for.
I don't have anything statistical to base it on, but I would guess that it's certainly less than 10%. Maybe even less than 5%.
"Surplussed employees that land internal positions are placed by contacts they have at very-very high levels in the company. I saw this in 2 instances when I was laid off and both employees were not qualified for the positions by a long shot. I interviewed for 3 different positions and had a verbal offer from one only to be pulled at the last minute. It was like being laid off twice in the same week."
Yep I saw the same thing happen more than twice. pretty sickening. it isn't what you know.
I know of a first line who basically took a lateral transfer to a different state and kept his job. The other one I know is retired as of tomorrow.

I know of people who were extended, one person who may have found something internal yesterday (I expect to know for sure today), and some PMs that found internal positions.
I applied/interviewed for a job that was ultimately filled by someone completely unqualified who was surplused so I know of at least one.
