Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The next round to be notified at the end of April

I expect the next round to be notified at the end of April. McElfresh said back in January that there will be more ‘in the coming months”. Those notified in Jan will be off payroll end of this week. Anticipate a bunch of re-orgs, re-shuffling, and more notices end of April, off payroll end of June, coinciding with end of 2nd qtr.

Found this post by @YgPIePp-ask on another thread as a reply. Has anybody heard the same thing?

I believe there will be but who knows if any truth comes out of McElfresh’s mouth! He said at his town hall that he would publish a list of the submitted questions with answers as he didn’t address any of them at his Town hall. That list never came out.

I agree it’s all about the numbers. If it can fool wall st that everything is awesome maybe the April lay-off notices will be less

Than expected. I’m just not feeling it

I keep hearing April 22 for the next ATO management surplus. I also keep hearing the backlash from the Jan 28 surplus was so bad that upper management is re-evaluating the next announcement. I wouldn’t know, just repeating rumors.

@pwz - "Wireless support staff has more than doubled in the last 2 years many just forward emails from the AM." Been in Mobility my entire career...in what organization, pray tell, are you making this statement about? Every single one of the groups I interface with has been cut over the last couple years, whether via normal attrition, surplus, or other, No backfills in any of these cases. Your statement is ridiculous and erroneous.

My hear goes out to the employees of Att. What they are doing to you is unforgivable. No worries though I believe in Karma and Att will get what they deserve in the end.

$10 concession a follow up to another fine marketing decision. How much money do we waste marketing? They pound my area with so many commercials for services that aren’t even available here. And I’m over here reading comments on this site under the Shelly topic about people having to p--p in the wastebasket because the is no money to fix a bathroom. What is happening to this company?

I expect 1Q results will dictate the severity of the surplus. One bad signal. - T sending email to those that dropped DTV Now offering a $10 concession to stay along with being able to keep all the current channels (new customers get the new pigs which contain fewer channels)

We are all expecting the 3 month rolling pattern and end of April fits the pattern. Expecting more outsourcing of work as part of the expense reduction

Yes that is consistent with the way this has been going. They announce, give the laid-off 2 months to be processes, then wait a

Month and announce again for another bunch to be laid off. So announce 3 months from last announcement=End of April, July, October, January.....
