Sweet deal for them because they were acquired. Those 55 and over with 10 years or more get 4 weeks pay for each year up to 2 years pay. I would jump on it in a second and leave this miserable sinking ship
The buyout is ONLY for executives. Why? Probably because these upper echelon rub elbows with many across the entertainment spectrum and since word of mouth travels far, the death star will have issues trying to recruit. Basically, the company is so untrustworthy that nobody who is worth anything wants to work for them. Even HBO lost another executive today. After Game of Thrones plays out, I would wager to say that the crown jewel of cable tv (HBO) will be nothing more than just another channel.
They're only offering this to avoid bad publicity. Many others will be shown the door with nothing.
.... it’s too bad AT&T treats the newly merged (soon to be unemployed) better than their AT&T proven and devoted existing (recently or soon to be surplus’d) employees... ... makes the 6 month / 21 weeks severance & Unemployment seem like s slap in the face (more like a kick in the a--) 😒🥴😡🤬
At least it's voluntary. Thousands of ATT managers are being involuntarily terminated on 3/29 with a maximum of 6 months pay, due to the effort toward geolocation.
i need to get rid of all the creative types that make HBO and Turner a success. I can make WarnerMedia profitable by hiring 15 year old kids that make youtube videos. I can pay these kids minimum wage and they can film from their fake ATT 5gE phone so I don't need these union guys to shoot and edit. Your pal, Johnny Stanky
