Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Really tired of this uncertainty

Am I the only one who is getting really tired of the constant uncertainty and stress at Oracle? It's starting to be increasingly frustrating to have to worry about my job every single day. Even when there are no layoffs, like in the past month or so, we are still worrying because we always know for sure more is coming, we just don't know when.

This is not a good atmosphere to work in, and it's certainly not good for productivity. But watch as nothing changes for years to come...

That is why I left. The daily anxiety was not worth the package I’d have gotten last week if I’d stayed. Use this time to look when you still have a job. That’s my advice.

Well, they say there is no such thing as job security anymore, that you have to plan on changing jobs every 2-3 years. So you can hop, or you can wait for a rif and a package,

If you are worried, find another job, you feckless #@@#

the alternative is wait, stress, gossip; then scream at the sky once you're let go. Is that the plan?

Why stress about it.

Just do your job. If you get made redundant than just find another one. Economy is doing well so you should have problems and assuming you have worked for Oracle a while you will get a decent package.
