Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Directv has ruined COR

Randal knew traditional satellite subscribers would decline by the 100’s of thousands quarterly when it was purchased, yet management drones still demand that it be crammed down the throats of every customer every time. This is nothing more than a dastardly plan to fire reps or force them to quit. There’s no reason why this product could/can/will sell well in a retail store. It’s the most antiquated and expensive entertainment product out there.

Bumped from @YfrAygI-ckb, who made a good point.

att didn't buy directv for the service but the content it had. It along with time warner is the battle for content and the ability to deliver it.

DTV was doing just fine until Randall and The Stank came along. The customers were happy, as were the employees. Time Warner Media was also doing much better before Randall and The Stank ruined the creative environment. And all the Baby Bells were much better off.

This company destroys everything it touches. For the customer, for the employees, and for society at large. AT&T is a cancer that keeps growing and devouring more and more of our society.

Not only should our government be blocking these destructive aquisitions, they should be breaking this corporation up.

Those are problems with ATT strategy, not the product. there's maybe one storm per year that knocks out my reception. D was doing well for itself prior to ATT coming into the picture and customers like myself were generally much happier with it as a stand alone company. It was a mistake for D to merge with ATT, I agree on that because ATT has no idea how to run a video distribution company and things have gone downhill fast under ATTs leadership.

The author is right. DTV is killing COR and all forms of retail. Other carriers are not requiring TV so why sign up / resign with T? And it's not like DTV is quality. It DOES go out in storms. DTV Now has increased its price repeatedly in the past year. That's just shady. So why would you buy from retail when they will hound you with DTV.

DTV was dying business - DBS is no longer a viable business. Just the fact. It will not go away right away, but will keep sinking AT&T. Bad decision by AT&T to overpay for a declining business.

Maybe you should rename your topic to "ATT ruined DirecTv and was purchased for all the wrong reasons.

Do you know that DirecTv is still making ATT money? What part do you guys not understand. Is it diminishing? Of Course. Because people are going to Netflix, Hulu and Broadband Internet TV that is $20 to $30 a month. And the upper middle class in the woods don't really care if they pay a lot of money for a dish because they don't broadband internet.

Get your facts straight and think about what you write. And yes DirecTv is still making them money. Geezz get it right people. The management will take down the company. Not DirecTv.
