Are you a college hire ? If you are from India and a campus hire then laying off you will give a very bad impression about Oracle in the college circle and some colleges will out right ban Oracle from visiting their campus during the placement session.
Layoffs, strangely, share the same cultural psychosis as death. Notice all who died were warm, funny, loving, blah blah.
Not one obit read the person was a selfish-arse. So on the same vein all laid-off were random; had no subjective qualities or lack thereof.
Your attitude? You haven't trashed your manager in public? who knows but you should be looking to leave anyway - why stay?
Unknown but most likely not due to salary.
