I wish they would just get it over with so we can know where we stand. Regarding the rumors of layoffs by the end of March, I wanted to ask have they started already and if no is there any more precise info on when they could happen?

Nobody’s blaming co-workers. The point is that, if you think of them (and the company) as family, you’ll be in a pretty sad state when you get laid off and they are no longer part of your life.
I never blamed my co-workers for my layoff. It was a corporate decision.
It was weird to go from seeing and working with them every day to never talking to them again in the span of a couple hours. I might as well have been dead according to their perspective.
Yeah coworkers should not be blamed for layoffs especially if you are the one who hired them because you are best friends and you pay them $100 an hour even if they don’t have much experience before joining enbridge. And you can recommend to layoff some of your other staff so you can hire more people you know like the brother of your friend or a friend recommended by your other friends you previously hired.
A few people cast blame on co-workers here. Co-workers can be like family, especially when you spend more time with them then your home family. Co-workers usually have nothing to do with a layoff. I don't blame them.
You’ll be evaluated based on how well you bring your replacement up to speed. If you don’t do it well enough, they will walk you out sooner than planned.
The good ole integration role. If you’re in one of those, they won’t tell you. But you’ll feel it (who did you offend, by the way?)
So, why, then, is the work environment so toxic at Enbridge?
Do you really have to ask?
Too true. I was one of those sad people that believed hard work, loyalty, and being a good team player would get me through anything and that my co-workers were like a second 'family'.
It just earned me an escorted walk out of the building one day after many years of dedicated service. You are truly a number and will be cut when you don't fit into the company's plans anymore.
That's the reality.
Ah, yes, the “integration” role. If you’ve got one, you will spend the next six months or so teaching the person who will ultimately take over your job (possibly at a lower level and pay scale) everything you know. Once you’ve adequately trained your replacement, you’ll find yourself in a cozy room with your boss and an HR rep.
So no, your colleagues and this company are most decidedly not your family.
Yeah, this is the end of the initial restructuring, but definitely not the final employee count. Seems like there are many people in "integration" roles now, and those jobs obviously won't be here forever. And as systems are consolidated, Big Enbridge will expect more efficiencies. i think the best advice anyone can give is to have a back-up plan and don't be complacent. I used to think of work people sort of like family. But there is nothing sadder than a person who thinks of their coworkers and company as "family" and gets kicked to the curb.
There were multiple rounds at Spectra.
Everyone is on pins and needles til we're let go at some point.
Enjoy your time and remember in the back of your mind, no matter how hard you work, CH is getting ready to toss you out.
The merger is going to take five years to be “complete” layoffs will continue to happen over the next five years as more changes are made. The initial round may be “complete” however it will continue
It is all done.
