Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Is this true?

The protected PTO is so much better than the old attendance policy. You can use it for whatever reason you could be late 100 times this year and still not get one point in the new attendance policy because of the protected PTO. You need to read all the details. yes Sams has made a lot of changes and some of them I question but a few of them are really good.

Just build up some protected PTO and use it however you want. You don’t have to bring a doctors note in because the protected PTO protects you from getting any points. If you’re out more than three days call Sedgwick they’ll approve it and you get zero points, and then you can be out as many days as You can get approved.

Is this true or is somebody trolling?

Some states only get 48 hours max per year for PPTO but at least those are protected hours. Some people will abuse it, some won’t. That’s the nature of the beast.

I’m just waiting for someone to get terminated by the time clock. Almost a week and not one manager has approved any absences, tarries, or schedule changes

Bear in mind, the old policy - 3 tardies = 1 unapproved absence. It took 12 tardies to get your first coaching. If attendance alone were the issue, and only going by tardies (and if they were actually counting them as they occurred instead of letting them "slide" as they have been apt to do), it would take 18 tardies in 6 months to be terminated. Now it would take 10.

You can use PPTO for tardiness.

To my understanding, you CANNOT utilize PPTO to mitigate tardiness; you can only use it to cover absences.

You can put in PPTO in 15 minute increments to cover your tardiness.

Read the policy and figure it out. It's not hard.
