Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Restructure!!

I believe there will be a restructure in the next couple weeks. Face the facts: less sales=less payroll.

Heres what I think will happen.

"A" volume stores will have 2 ASMs and maybe 3 supervisors. Probably

4 full timers. Everyone else will be laid off according to value to the company and wage.

"B" volume stores, 1 ASM, 2 supervisors, 3 full timers

"C" volume no ASMs, 3 supervisors, 2 full timers

"D" volume no ASMs, 3 supervisors, maybe 1 full timer but probably none as these stores will be targeted to close unless they get a free lease.

This is a restructure and completely legal. This is how you can justify getting rid of high salaries, high hourly pay and benefits.

Bedbath is in a rapid downward spiral, there is no other way but to keep cutting! The activist are correct, ST has destroyed Bedbath and honestly, I dont see if recovering. Godspeed everyone and have faith in yourself going forward to be brave enough to step out of your comfort zone and do what needs to be done!

District staff in abundance has yet to be addressed. Time to clean house at this level and up.

I find it hilarious with so much management still in place, talk about a problem staring you right in the face.

So firing the asms who they agreed to pay them what they make is now too much money and and they can supervisors for 10k less. Bad decisions. The sups quit as soon as something better comes along . The asms have put time and dedication into their work. The ship will definitely sink with these stupid decisions. Cut above the sms , more district staff needs to go and above.

You must have at least 3 managers plus the SM so hes saying the supervisors will replace ASMs

What do you think the new labor model will be?

No offense, although I think that your scaling is way off. They would never give a A volume 3 sups, when a C has 3 as well. I do see ASMs leaving small volume stores, but I think that the logic has gone off track. I mean yes, they will be restructuring with the new labor model they are releasing (we are in phase 1 now- this is public knowledge- ST said this on the last big call)

So firing the asms will bring the store managers out of their office and have to actually do work. It will be a joke having dept sups running the stores.

Why can’t payroll be saved by cleaning out the corporate office and the regional positions. And my dmm does nothing to help my store. It takes him 4 emails and a cc to his boss to finally reach out to me. So now all of the district staff they saved by making them asms are now going to be fired. Whom ever is making this stupid decisions needs to go. Best of luck to everyone.

Trust me, you did not hit the nail on the head; if you had, your post would've been deleted.

I've been told that HR gets a belly laugh at these posts, I'm confident they are enjoying your wet dream.

Dream on with this crazy scenario. There will be no restructuring before the meeting, and nothing that resembles this after the meeting. You need a thinning of the management ranks, has NOT happened yet.
