Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Let this be a lesson to all

Let this be a lesson to all, I learned years ago not to fall for this bull c-ap consumerism economy. It's expected that we all must buy 'STUFF' to keep it rolling, well that's fine but I'm not going to do it and then lose my job every 2 or 3 years!! It's not worth it, company expects me to buy what we build and then threaten my job. Forget it!! I'm out for number one and if that means put every penny earned in my pocket that's what I'm going to do. Only buying what I need not what I want. The rest of world looks at the USA and probably thinks what in hell are these people doing slaving away at a job buying 5 dollar coffees, 55000 dollar pickup trucks, 200 dollar running shoes, campers, 18000 dollar jet ski, just every dumb thing you can imagine. People don't get it, they lower the interest rates and sellers work backwards from the payment and charge an outrageous price purchase price. Buyers, all they do is shop payment not total price. If they can make the payment they get, they never consider the price or depreciation.

The OP ( @YVigQOw-1vcj ) summed it up real good.

I never even considered the idea of buying a GM vehicle while I was working there, but less now! I have worked with some shady management and engineers there, had first hand experience of cover-ups, how they treat customers and employees, etc. To those "I'm a Chevy guy" or "we are a Chevy family" kind of people, GM doesn't care a darn about you. They're a for-profit company, and will use you to gain more profits.

Regardless, people are waking up. They aren't buying GM regardless, and the market share is telling the story.

For every promoter within GM, one scorned employee does that damage times five or more. I own five GM products, zero GM. I know at least a dozen I've turned off to GM. You know how hard they push us to promote their products to friends and family.

By their deeds you will know them. #NOTourmoney.
