Thread regarding CVS layoffs

CVS is drifting from the core business?

I generally was one of the few people at my workplace who had positive thoughts about the Aetna acquisition. I still think it was a good improvement and a good widening of the business. However, with all the store closings and the shifts at particular stores it looks to me that CVS is on a path where it is abandoning its core business and moving more in the healthcare sector that ot acquired with Aetna. Moving away from doing what we do best and what made us into a profitable company is never a good idea.

It is no surprise. The front store managers that do not have a back up plan are not very smart. Now is the time to get into a new company career while there are jobs out there.

Probably the most obvious statement on this board in sometime. Get with the times genius and start looking for a new career. Front end is coming to a close. 5-10 years and we’ll all need to find new work.

That has always been how big companies fail, getting away from what they do best. Very much agree with your assessment.
